In this context, Université Grenoble Alpes is implementing an open access policy for its publications, data, and codes. This commitment is part of the National Open Science Plan, a national framework that aims to establish open science as a common and shared practice encouraged by the entire higher education, research, and innovation ecosystem.

Its actions include:

  • Increasing the number of full-text publications in HAL with the help of the HAL UGA office
  • Practical support for data management through the CDGA office
  • Strengthening two networks of reference persons in the laboratories for publications and data
  • Raising awareness and training the scientific community, including doctoral students, in open science
  • Development of an open publishing policy in collaboration with various stakeholders, including Centre Mersenne, UGA Editions, Presses Universitaires de Grenoble (PUG), and
    Librairies for Open Science Support.
  • Setting up an open science barometer.

In order to implement this ambitious policy, the UGA is bringing together various stakeholders and supporters of open science to develop information and training tools, as well as support services, that closely align with their needs.
