This two-day training course for doctoral students from all doctoral schools, regardless of their year of study, was organised in April 2024 and supplemented by three optional modules.
The course objectives are as follows:

  1. raise awareness of research data management, particularly with regard to the FAIR and open principles. Doctoral students will be able to contribute to national and international open science movements by including their theses.
  2. provide practical recommendations to help doctoral students improve their approach. The modules will be based on concrete examples and can be applied directly to their research work.
  3. support PhD students in drafting their Thesis Data Management Plan (DMP). This will make their data management easier by helping them ask the right questions. Each module therefore concludes with a session in which doctoral students can see how the content of the module can help them complete their DMP.
