Storing and backing up data, regardless of volume, and wanting to access it via the network from a clearly identified system (laboratory server, computing machine, etc.). For hot or cold data.

Not suitable for:

Access data outside the UGA, share data with users outside the UGA.

Addressed to:

All users with a centralised storage problem, members of the UGA community as a priority, and benefiting from IT support for implementation.

Cost:

The full annual price list is available on the SUMMER website.

Access policy:

The UGA user is exempt from infrastructure costs. Infrastructure costs for people from outside the UGA: contact SUMMER. No volume limit.

Access type:

Access via the network from an identified system. ISCSI, NFS and CIFS protocols.

Operated by:

The Storage Technical Committee is made up of members of the UGA DGDSI (Information Systems Division), laboratories, GRICAD and teaching components; coordinated by the UGA DGDSI. Located in Grenoble.

Elements of sustainability:

The platform is supported by UGA and partly funded by user contributions.

MANTIS

For storing and sharing data, and possibly using it via the computing grid

Website

Ideal for:

Storing data in the cloud, whatever the volume, and accessing it from data processing and computing infrastructures. Accessible from certain computing machines in national centres (IDRIS). For hot or cold data.

Not suitable for:

Secure data, as the platform does not provide back–up.

Addressed to:

All users with a centralised storage problem, in particular for use on the computing grid, and either from the Grenoble scientific community or an external collaborator of a member of this community.

Cost:

No cost associated with using the platform. In the event of heavy usage, users may have to make a financial contribution to the shared platform by purchasing or participating in the purchase of a node, for example.

Access policy:

Platform open to all authorised users. The default quota is 500 GB, but this can be increased on request.

Access type:

Access via an IRODS client, from authorised infrastructures, in particular GRICAD and IDRIS computing machines (ADA, Jean Zay). In order to use the data, it must first be copied to a local system.

Operated by:

The GRICAD Support and Research Unit (UAR in french) and its partners. Located in Grenoble.

Elements of sustainability:

The platform is one of the storage services of the GRICAD Support and Research Unit, which is supervised by the CNRS, UGA, GINP and INRIA. The platform is funded by contributions from scientific projects, laboratories and unit supervisory bodies.

BETTIK

Storage space for intensive computing

Website

Ideal for:

Storing potentially massive amounts of data while it is being processed on computing machines. For hot data. Scratch space.

Not suitable for:

Medium–term storage, data back–up.

Addressed to:

All users of the Luke and Dahu computing machines.

Cost:

No cost associated with using the platform. In the event of heavy usage, users may have to make a financial contribution to the shared platform by purchasing or participating in the purchase of a node, for example.
