There are many types of data repositories, including geneicl (such as Zenodo), national (such as Recherche Data Gouv), institutional, and disciplinary.
In France, the multidisciplinary Recherche Data Gouv repository enables researchers to upload their data sets. Recherche Data Gouv provides moderation services to ensure high-quality data descriptions and reusability. Université Grenoble Alpes has opened an institutional space within this repository: Data Repository Grenoble Alpes.
It is generally recommended that you choose a recognized disciplinary or thematic repository within its community.
The most important criteria for selecting a repository are as follows:
- The allocation of a unique identifier (DOI) to make it easier to cite the data.
- The wealth of metadata available to describe the data in as much detail as possible.
- The management of embargoes and the ability to restrict access to the data.
- The ability to allocate a license.
- Guarantees of the repository’s long-term future (funding, certification, etc.).
To facilitate the work of research teams, the Research Data College offers a method for identifying trusted thematic repositories, as well as a first list of repositories resulting from the grid of analysis criteria retained to be discovered here below.
This list is evolving and is intended to be gradually supplemented by the Research Data College. It is also not exhaustive: therefore, not appearing in the list does not imply that the repository concerned is not trusted..
It can be accessed on the ‘Trusted repositories’ page of the Data Gouv research portal.
If there is no suitable disciplinary repository, it is recommended that datasets be deposited in the National Research Data Gov repository.
Il existe des répertoires d’entrepôts de données comme :
De nombreuses informations peuvent être trouvées sur le site Doranum.
